Day 1: LA PAZ
Transfer to the hotel.
Located on a large bay on the Sea of Cortes, La Paz is 137 miles by road north of the southern tip of the peninsula. La Paz was founded by Hernan Cortez on May 3, 1535. Jose Espinoza established the first permanent settlement that turned La Paz into the capital of Baja California Sur in 1830.
Although situated on a lovely long beach, the best beaches for swimming and sunbathing are found north of the city on the road to Tecolote: Playa Palmira, Playa el Coromuel, Playa el Caimancito, Playa del Tesoro, Playa Pichilingue and Playa Balandra.

Day 2: LA PAZ
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the island of Espiritu Santo. The island of Espíritu Santo is the closest island to the bay of La Paz and possesses the most stunning views of all the islands in the Sea of Cortés. Its contrasting desert landscapes and reddish limestone cliffs juxtaposed with a turquoise blue sea is a breathtaking example of the exquisite vistas found here. Travelers from all over the world visit Espíritu Santo’s coves and canyons to camp, snorkel, scuba dive or simply relax on its many beautiful beaches. Box lunch in the island.
